Dear You,

I love my new church. Not because its new. But because its great. I am so proud of it already. I just want to tell everyone to get themselves down there. I can’t help it!
I don’t normally blog on a Sunday. It’s my day off. And rightly so! But do you know what? I was SO excited today by what God was doing, I NEEDED to write it down.

Last night, Jon went to the Apollo gig for LZ7 who are a Christian band from Manchester who go to our church. I am so impressed with who they are, what they stand for and how they conduct themselves.
This week they are doing a mad and crazy thing. They are releasing a single: ‘Shine your light’ and they want it to go to Number One. And now, my friend, so do I. They sang it at church this morning and I just broke open inside.

I’m not a rapper (I know… you didn’t see that one coming did you?) but these guys are releasing such a shout in my spirit. This morning after the talk a girl got up to share some words from Isaiah. I don’t know what came over me but I shouted. I mean PROPERLY shouted like I was at a football match surrounding by the hard-of-hearing wearing ear muffs, ” COME ON GOD!!!!!!!!” I embarrassed myself. Really.

But I saw a glimpse of heaven opening over these guys as they put themselves and this song out into the open streets and the schools and the lives of young people in our land. And I got urgent in my soul. I don’t want young people wasting their lives whilst I am alive. I don’t want my children growing up in a generation where kindness is sissy and where generosity is suspicious and ridiculed… Do you?

PLEEEEEEEEEASE do something for me? If you can spare 5 minutes? Just go to the website and download this song. Let’s help these guys not just get their song out there, but the message behind the song: ‘Making God famous and making goodness fashionable..’

Check out the links below. We are all singing the song (which is not annoying, but is very catchy) as I type…:)

COME ON GOD!
