The most familiar of all the Psalms in the Bible starts with a small phrase:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1)

For some of us, the word ‘want’ is a bit tricky right now. It is as season where many of us are ‘wanting’ something”¦ very badly.
If that is you, then this blog is for you too. In a big way.

The Bible is very clear here.
It says you and I need to decide something. We need to speak something out and say something over our lives.
If you and I believe that the Lord is our Shepherd (and I very much do) then we should also believe that it is possible to say (and mean)
I SHALL NOT WANT.
In other words
I will lack nothing of value.
I won’t need anything I don’t have.
I won’t be without.
I will be provided for.
I will be sorted.
I will be ok.
I will be blessed.
It will be well.

Humanly speaking we will always want something. It may be a small thing like a clean pair of socks or a decent hug”¦ but I am not talking about that kind of stuff here. I am thinking more about what we ‘want’ in the spirit realm.

If you were honest with yourself what would be on your list today?
A closer friend?
A better relationship with someone in your family?
A child?
Greater financial stability?
A closer walk with God?

Those things are all reasonable and wholesome desires in some ways”¦ but sometimes, those ‘wants’ can allow us to think negatively and sow dissatisfaction into our days.

We can blame God that we do not have what we feel we need NOW. We can tell Him, very loudly, that He is not ALL we want. That we want MORE.

Let me tell you something about the thing I am learning about the ways God sees me.
If God gives me vision for something like loving a tough person, writing a new book or praying in a new way then He will give me PROvision for that vision.

He is a PRO!!!
He has the best CV of anyone I know or will ever know.
He has a 100% faithful track record and He will never lose His reputation, or His marbles or His destiny.
He is a PROtector, a PROvider, and a PROdocer.
What He says happens.

It may not come as instantly as we hope, or wrapped up in the way we thought. But it will come.

Sewn into your vision (which God gave you anyway) is His PRO-vision for that vision to happen.

So if He told you you would one day run your own company, you will. If He told you you would begin to change how you feel about your past, you will. But it starts with a declaration from you. You need to say the following words:

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”
