I think it is possibly true to say that The Lord does three things with us. He is at work either:
1. filling us
2. spilling us or
3. stilling us

God revealed this to me this week as I was praying and I found it very helpful. I hope you do to.

I wonder what He is doing with you at the moment.
Is He filling you with His peace, patience, confidence or hope?
Is He spilling some of your bad attitudes, fears, doubts and anxieties?
Or, is He stilling you and reminding you that He is God?

He may of course be doing ALL THREE. Because He can!

Knowing (or trusting) what God is doing can mean the difference between a very good or a very rubbish day. If you can let God be God and get on with His job of filling, spilling or stilling you, you will have more peace, more fulfillment and more hope.

So why is it that we don’t? I mean, why do we fight against God so often?
Well, we are actually designed to question. We weren’t designed, in the first instance, to argue”¦ but we were designed to ask and talk and dialogue with God. Sometimes we don’t like, understand or appreciate what God is doing. At others times of course we will downright disagree with Him about what we desire. We will shake our heads and say”¦ “Just what I didn’t need today..” as though somehow God has made a bit of an error.
But your God and my God doesn’t do those kinds of things, does He?

So have a think today what God might be up to, and why. Then thank Him for doing it.
After all, He only does things for our good.
