This morning I found Esther with my Bible.
“What are you doing darling?” I asked, hoping she wasn’t going to tear the pages or revert it to its component parts.

“I are reading,” she announced, simply. And very firmly.

“Oh. And what are you reading poppet?” I inquired.

“God book,” she said.

Then she turned the pages very slowly and seriously with an earnest look on her face.

At every page she stopped and pointed with her finger.

“God loves you,” she said.

The she turned another page.

“God loves you,” she said, again.

This pattern continued for some time on a few more pages.

“God loves you.”

Occasionally, she changed her words to “Jesus loves you.”

I smiled at her beautifully simple yet profound knowledge that on every single page of the word of God, this is indeed what we will find: that God loves us. Very, very much and over and over again.
